On Tuesday 29th April, we will be launching an exciting new drinks range and dispenser for our pupils, to greatly reduce our plastic use and encourage reusable bottles at school.
A large number of plastic bottles are currently thrown away at our school each year. Many bottles still do not get recycled, and even those that do get recycled are creating more harmful CO2 into our environment at each recycling process. Our Magnificat Green Goals commit to reducing plastic waste and decarbonising our school operations.
In conjunction with Alliance in Partnership, Gen Juice Drinks Hubs are being introduced, which enable students to purchase a large variety of refreshing drinks. These chilled drinks are mixed to order and then dispensed into the student's own reusable bottle. They are school compliant, vegan, gluten free, without added sugar and use natural ingredients.
Students and staff will help themselves using the modern touch screen, to any of the 6 different drinks. These include water flavour-fusions such as Raspberry Peach, Watermelon & Lemon Lime, together with the popular Cherry Boom and Tropical juice drinks, as well as exciting new flavours like Pineapple Coconut and Strawberry Crush. All drinks are fast-pour and deliciously chilled. Our plastic bottle waste is then removed, and students enjoy great new flavours.
Even better news is that these tasty drinks will cost the same as a bottle of water (£1 per 500ml portion), but we are also offering a 250ml portion for 60p. Our catering team will also be including the drinks as part of their 3 item meal deals, to offer even more value every day.
Alliance in Partnership will be selling rPET 600ml reusable bottles to the students, including a fill of 500ml drink, for just £2.50, and the bottle is then kept by the students for reusing.
There will also be a free drink on the launch day (Tuesday 29th April) for all students who bring or buy a bottle.
Available at Trinity Catholic School, with plans to roll out to our other schools soon.
