Earlier this month, a fantastic opportunity was offered to staff members within our Multi-Academy Company in partnership with the University of Bolton. Eight places, fully funded by Our Lady of the Magnifcat, were made available for the MA in Global Educational Leadership and the MEd Professional Development in Education courses. These courses, tailored for those in leadership or aspiring to leadership within education, provide a unique opportunity for our staff to further their professional development while continuing their current work in the classroom.
Staff members were encouraged to apply by submitting a 500-word statement explaining why they wanted to undertake the master’s degree and how it would benefit their department. With the University of Bolton prepared to accredit previous qualifications, such as NPQH, SENCO, and NPQEL, the programme is designed to reduce the time required to complete, making it more accessible for busy professionals. The online coursework structure ensures that staff can complete their working day and continue with their learning from 4pm onwards.
The initiative is not only a chance for staff to gain new qualifications but also a valuable tool for enhancing their skills and professional performance. Undertaking this master's programme will allow staff to develop critical leadership abilities, deepen their understanding of educational strategies, and refine their approach to driving school improvement. By building on their existing expertise and gaining fresh insights into global education and leadership, staff members will be able to apply this knowledge directly to their roles, leading to improved outcomes for both their students and their departments.
This opportunity highlights our commitment to nurturing the growth and development of our team, ensuring that we not only support our staff but also continually enhance the educational experience for our students. The staff who take advantage of this programme will return to their roles with renewed knowledge, motivation, and practical skills that will positively impact their teaching and leadership.
